Mansion in Zaandam

Crazy stuff

In this characteristic mansion dating from 1906, nostalgia and Art Nouveau come together in a contemporary interpretation. The house proudly bears its history and forms the starting point for an interior in which past and present flow together naturally.

Found treasures are effortlessly combined with new and vintage classics. This mix enhances the character of the home and honors the rich history of the house and its surroundings, without dwelling on nostalgia. Each element seems to tell a story, carefully chosen and coordinated.

This historical foundation is reinforced by deep, warm colors and bold bohemian prints, creating an interior that feels both familiar and innovative.

Special materials play a leading role. Colored marble, subtle gold accents, and warm wood tones are combined with glass and steel. Flowing, undulating lines refer to the elegance of Art Nouveau, while the composition as a whole remains modern and refined. The color palette is rich and layered: from burgundy to yellow, orange, beige, brown, and eggplant, complemented by natural green tones that bring the interior to life.
